This page is dedicated to a good friend who many knew from the days of old, even before KISS with Lance, Zee, Derek, and the others, right up to the awesome days he gave us over at Harlequins, and over in Newlands at sneakers... Anchorage… and more... It has crushed me, as it is the first person that is close to my heart that has passed due to the Pandemic. Hence in honor as he’s deserved a true respected award and wall of memory where you can post here below your memories as well. Send pics that you’d like me to post… I share this wall with all others who may have lost a loved one due to covid… GOD BLESS SA… The second wave is not playing around.. I beg of you all… keep safe SA… .. He’d always keep the fire in us, and now it’s time for us to keep that fire burning on as we bid… dude, it’s the least I could do to show you my respects… A WELL DESERVED WALL OF FAME BROTHER… REST IN PEACE…

This is an idol, a good friend, an awesome entertainer, and my mentor as I watched and trained since younger, how amazing he always was. I am in a good position today because of Derek. Oh Father this is my first closest friend fallen due to victim and I am at loss of words… RIP my friend

To Zaid Sayed Noor may Allah make it easy for you in the grave. May he wipe your book of deeds clean and place it in your right hand. Your passing came as a shock it truly knocked everybody because it was unexpected. Watching your wife my sister inlaw be devastated by losing her husband is a painful site. And even though we all understand that Allah knows best it doesnt make it easy. I cant accept you gone even watching your janaza i wanted to jump in my phone and wake you up just shake you awake to prove its a mistake. We had zikr tonight for you and still i feel as though we are burying somebody else just not u but i cry watching your wife emotionally drained sitting there shaking her head as they lowered ur body i wished i was there with her to comfort her and remind her that its going to be ok but it wont until she heals and that will take time. I cant and wont say goodbye its still not real to me. We love you so much rest in peace my wonderful brother inlaw.

I am gonna miss you my cuz, my eyes well up with tears every time I think about you being gone – from our days as lighties together, our visits to Aunty Shirley, movies at Shah Jehan, dance offs at Aunty Lettie, going to Blitz on the Putco busses, sniping chicks on the back stairs of Zoom, sunshine boys and kiss, cousin get together days and the last time I saw you when you MC Adrian’s wedding -larger than life and a self-made man who rose up through the tribulations of life – I salute you my cuz – there will never be another Derek Rooi!
